Tzu-Li Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. Dr. Chen received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from National Tsing Hua University. He has been a visiting scholar in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University. He worked for National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) and Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU) before he joined NTHU. His research interests include smart healthcare, smart manufacturing, production and logistics management, stochastic optimization and reinforcement learning, system simulation and digital twin, and big data analysis. He has been working on several university-industry collaboration projects with high tech industries including semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor assembly & testing, Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT-LCD) and electronics industry, traditional industries including equipment manufacturing, metal processing industry, postal service industry and healthcare/medical service industries.
