Yee-Yeen Chu received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 1971, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University in 1974 and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering at University of Illinois in 1978. From 1978 to 1981, he was a Senior Scientist and Manager in the Information and Decision Support Systems Group, Perceptronics, Woodland Hills, CA. He joined the National Taiwan Institute of Technology as a visiting Associate Professor in Industrial Management in 1981. He then returned to Perceptronics as a Group Director of Information and Automation Systems from 1981 to 1986 and became corporate director of R&D and Principal Scientist from 1987 to 1992. Under the sponsorship of various Federal Agencies and high-tech industries, he served as the principal investigator and program manager in a number of programs directed to the development of emerging intelligent system technology and business applications involving a collaborative team of industry, university and research institute. Since 1992, he joined the National Tsing Hua University to help establish the Engineering Management Program and lead a series of collaborative research programs directed to developing methodology and systems for product innovation, design management, and strategic technology management. He has published over a hundred papers and reports in these areas and consulted a number of government agencies, research institutes and industrial firms in the States and in Taiwan. Dr. Chu's research interests are in the area of engineering and technology management, including concurrent engineering and collaborative product development; product and process innovation; agile manufacturing and supply chain management; strategic technology management and systems of innovation
